michael stammler (germany)

Until 2011, Mr. Stammler was the CEO of the Feri Finance Group. Prior to founding Feri Trust, he worked at Roland Berger & Partner, a management consulting firm in Munich, and Siemens AG. Mr. Stammler is also on the Advisory Board of Sanderling Ventures, a leading life science venture capital firm in California. Mr. Stammler received a degree in Business Administration from Mannheim University.

ivan baines (germany)

Dr. Baines is Board Member of the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, one of the leading research institutes worldwide, where he is responsible for technology transfer and commercialization. He was formerly with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States working in three main areas: its Technical Evaluation Board focused on out-licensing and cooperative R& D agreements, the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute and the Small Business Innovation Research program structuring of over 100 new start-ups in the life sciences sector. He was a co-founder of Biopolis Consultants in Dresden and has advised the public sector on establishing regional bioclusters. He has served on numerous biotech boards and has been published extensively in leading scientific journals. He received his PhD in Cell Biology & Biochemistry from the University of London.



william chang (us)

Mr. Chang is Chairman of Westlake International Group, based near San Francisco, a diversified investment company with operations in North and South America as well as Asia.  He is also a founder of Newstone Capital, an investment bank based in Beijing China.  He was the founding Chairman of the Asian Business League and is on the Executive Committee of the San Francisco Giants.  He received his BA from Harvard College.



george davis (us)

Mr. Davis is the Co-Head of business in the United States and Managing Partner of the Boston office of Egon Zehnder International, a leading global executive search firm. He has extensive experience in senior executive and board level assignments, including the life sciences industry. He is also a member of the global private equity team and sits on several corporate boards. He received an MBA from Northwestern University.



marc hentz (germany)

Dr. Hentz is partner and managing director at Biopolis Consultants, a leading German Life Science consultancy. Prior to that, he held positions with A.T. Kearney Management Consultants and the Industrial Investment Council. He has advised numerous biotech companies with regard to strategy, funding, intellectual property and business development. Other clients have included venture capital and private equity funds as well as the public sector, supporting state and federal governments. Dr. Hentz studied chemistry and holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Hamburg.



pauli marttila (finland)

Mr. Marttila is the Director of Business Development & Strategic Investment of Sitra. Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund is an important early-stage investor mainly in the Nordic region, with over 20 direct as well as international fund of funds investments focused on life sciences and 30 direct investments focused on ICT and other areas. He is currently on the board of several life science companies and a member of several venture fund investment committees. He previously was the General Manager of New Developments for Neste Chemicals in Finland and Manager of Noptek Venture Capital Fund in Boston. He received his M.Sc. from Tampere University of Technology in Finland. 



carel bloys van treslong (netherlands)

Mr. Bloys van Treslong is a former board member of Pierson, Heldring & Pierson N.V. and a former Director of Fortis MeesPierson. He has over 35 years experience of banking and has extensive international experience in Europe, Asia and Latin America. He is serving on numerous Advisory Boards. He obtained his Master in Law at Utrecht University and received an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau.
